Dragon claws were just as deadly as their teeth. They could grip, wrench and tear flesh. The talons may have had poison on them or at least bacteria from all they killed. This would eventually kill you if not the loss of blood from a wound resulted from the threshing of a claw. Dragons had scales feathers and leathery skin. Some had armour like hides.

A quick pen sketch of my version of a Chinese type dragon.
The dragon has appeared in Chinese history for 1000's of years. It is said to be a Myth, but why was it so important if it was not real? The number of claws was significant in relation to its importance in the world. 5 claws was godly and 3 claws showed less importance as far as dragons go. Some say that the dragons claws drop off the further away from China they lived. They were serpent like, some not having legs at all. Not many have wings but they could fly by magic. Some seem to look like they have lion heads, other more reptilian.

Here is a screen shot from my animation "Outcast". It took 4 weeks to make as I had a short deadline for the Film festival. I drew all the components with Derwant pencils, and scanned them into Photoshop. I then put them in After Effects and created the scenes. Once all the scenes were done and the voice overs done, they were placed in Premiere Pro. It was a bit rough but the audience appreciated the work.
Well getting there with Blogging. Will start to get some drawings up. I have some of my Droecrest drawings for you to look at. The animation "Outcast" is on my Youtube channel. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lZ6CqDUrdk
